Leave Calculator Nepal: Home and Sick Leave

Home leave earned, sick leave balance, carry-forward caps and the value of leave encashment under the Labour Act.

How it works

Under the Labour Act 2074, employees earn 1 day of home leave for every 20 days worked (accumulating up to 90 days) and 12 days of sick leave a year (up to 45 days). Days above the limits are paid out, and the balance is paid when employment ends. Enter days worked and leave taken to see balances and value.

Home leave: 1 day per 20 days worked.

Used to value leave for encashment (basic ÷ 30 per day).

Leave encashment

When accumulated home or sick leave goes above the limits, the employer pays out the excess; on resignation, retirement or death, the whole balance is paid. Most employers value a day at basic salary ÷ 30 — check your bylaws. Pair this with the gratuity calculator for a full end-of-service figure.
