Trademark and NGO Registration Planner

Trademark government fees by number of classes with the step timeline — or the steps and founder check for registering an NGO.

How it works

Trademark: domestic applicants pay the Department of Industry NPR 1,000 per class to apply and NPR 5,000 per class on registration (plus NPR 500 for an official search); expect 3–9 months. NGO: at least 7 Nepali founders, registration at the District Administration Office, then SWC affiliation before receiving foreign funds, and a yearly renewal.

One application per class. Goods are classes 1–34, services 35–45.

Trademark registration at the DOI

Each class is a separate application, so a brand selling clothing (class 25) and running a shop (class 35) files twice. After examination the mark is published and anyone may oppose it within 90 days; then the registration fee is paid and the certificate issued, valid for 7 years. Search first — our trademark search guide explains how.

NGO registration at the DAO and SWC

An NGO is registered under the Association Registration Act 2034 with an approved constitution, then gets a PAN and bank account. Affiliation with the Social Welfare Council is needed to receive foreign assistance, and every foreign-funded project needs SWC approval. Our NGO registration service covers constitution drafting through to renewals.
